Welcome to the official website for Councilmember Bernard C. Parks and the Eighth District! With 250,000 constituents, it is one of the most diverse communities in Los Angeles. The Eighth Council District is located within the heart of South Los Angeles, stretching roughly from the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) in the north, Century Boulevard in the south, La Cienega in the west, and the Harbor Freeway (I-110) in the east.

2 Years After Losing Accreditation,Crenshaw High is Honored by Councilmember Parks for Being Academic Champions!

Friday, March 3, 2008 - Councilmember Bernard C. Parks honored Crenshaw High Schools’ Academic Decathlon Team in Council Friday, February 29, 2008. The school known for its outstanding athletic program was a leader among local high schools in posting a noteworthy performance at the Los Angeles Unified School District Academic Decathlon competition held over two weekends from January 26th to February 2nd.
